(1) The Vice-Chancellor’s Sapientia et Virtus Award (Wisdom and Virtue) recognises outstanding service by individuals who exemplify Australian Catholic University’s values of truth, excellence and service. (2) The Vice-Chancellor’s Sapientia et Virtus Award Policy stands alone from all other ACU award policies and procedures. (3) Recipients of the Sapientia et Virtus Award are eligible to receive other ACU or sector awards or recognition of achievement (notwithstanding any separate eligibility criteria). (4) The Sapientia et Virtus Award is open to ACU staff (past and present), students, alumni, honorary position and title holders and external stakeholders. (5) The Vice-Chancellor and President can select recipients for the Award at their discretion at any time. (6) The final decision on Award recipients is at the sole discretion of the Vice-Chancellor and President. (7) The Vice-Chancellor and President is the Approval Authority for this Policy. (8) The Chief Operating Officer is the Governing Authority for this Policy. (9) The Chief of Staff, Office of the Vice-Chancellor and President, is the Responsible Officer for this Policy. (10) In line with the University's Policy Development and Review Policy, this Policy is scheduled for review every five years or more frequently if appropriate. (11) Unless otherwise indicated, this Policy will still apply beyond the review date.
